18th Annual Abraham Penn Award Presented to Donna & Rick Morris

Wednesday, January 18, 2017

When Abraham Penn founded Puritan Clothing Company in 1919, he had two key principles:

1. Service to the customer
2. Service to the community

Honoring these principles is the foundation of Puritan Cape Cod’s mission. The Abraham Penn Community Service Award is given each year to an individual who has exemplified these principles, along with $1,000 donated to their local chamber. The Penn Family, owners of Puritan Cape Cod, have asked each Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce to nominate an individual for this year’s award.

At a reception this morning at Puritan Cape Cod’s Hyannis store, Donna and Rick, Owners of RPM Carpets and Floor Covering were honored by members of the Penn family and leaders of the Harwich Chamber of Commerce, who nominated Donna and Rick Morris for the award.

Donna and Rick are the epitome of community and customer service. Donna is currently the Board Chair of the United Way along with serving as the chair of sponsorship for United Way’s Best Night of the Year. Donna has worked tirelessly to make the event the amazing success that it is each year. Rick has been a huge supporter throughout the community, from sponsoring road races and parades and serving on the board of WE CAN and being one of their strongest supporters and advocates. Rick and Donna are unstoppable when they set their mind to accomplishing a task and are a tremendous benefit to not only the community of Harwich, but to Cape Cod as a whole.

The Harwich Chamber received a $1,000 donation in Donna & Rick’s name for nominating the eventual winner.

Thank you Rick and Donna for all the wonderful ways you've serviced your customers and our local community!
